My son was nice and toasty warm in this jacket. Kept him warm in the snow for hours. The hood is fleece-lined, so some days, he even went about without his beanie. Would have given a perfect score if it had side ventilation slits and more pockets inside.Never been happier with a clothing purchase, kept my son warm while skiing and playing on the mountain, and was easy to adjust to warmer weather when it happened. It expands so he will be able to wear it for a while. I love the idea that they are two and you can use only one if it is not that cold.I live in Alaska & I can say this is the newer better jacket. I bought the one from last year for this year (at my mistake). The hood is way to small & it's not lined, the zipper keeps coming apart on the outer jacket. This jacket has at times been my worst enemy taking my son home from school everyday, he has a very hard time with it. This liner on both new & old looks and feels great & the zipper is very good but again the outer jacket is horrible. I would buy this new one pictured here but not for the full price. I own a womens Columbia jacket & my coat's zipper keeps splitting in half also :(If I buy Columbia product's it will be from the store to see how well they are made from now on. I have always purchased Columbia & I am amazed by the lack of quality so far.P.S. I am not able to use the hood on my sons coat.
