Trust Columbia to market a vest in a color called Black Cherry which is neither a shade of black or cherry. I've been looking for a particular shade of dark red and had high hopes this would be it. Nope! It is actually more of a funky deep purple, not red at all. I have several other Columbia Steens Mtn. vests that I really love, so I send this one back and will keep looking elsewhere.Nice vest, but I think it should be tad lower in price. must my opinion. The fabric is somewhat thin, but I guess the mfg'er thinks the price reflects the value. It feels softer than any vest I've ever had, and I have had many during my 69 years of mostly living in the mountains. It is great around the house warmer on frigid days outside. It is what it is.My husband only weighs 160 pounds, but he found the vest a bit snug when he zipped it up. He can wear it over one shirt, but it wouldn't fit over two shirts or a shirt and a sweatshirt. Columbia quality is good as usual.Bought this as a gift, Im sad to say the fit was the issue, buy bigger than you think you need buy at least x2. Will not stretch. Otherwise seems a good vest.This item is exceptionally large, I've worn extra large for the past 30 years and most brands fit to my liking. I ordered extra large and it fits more like XXXL! I decided to return items and exchange for the large. But guess what, the large size almost doubled in price? So, what am I to do? I like the feel and I love my vest as I have a nice collection. People say that there is shrinkage when washed in hot water but no one states how much shrinkage occurs? I gave 4 stars because it was a value if they had fit.1 big problem 1st time I wore it and zipped it up. When I went to sit down while it was zipped and the zipper broke apart from the bottom, I was able to zip it down and luckily it zips back up but for that to happen on the 1st wear , it was on sale so if I return it I can’t get another for the same price if it’s worth it so....I got this at a good discount. I generally will buy Columbia when I can. I do like discounts. It is slightly small, but that is good as I intend to use it under a coat. Like Most Columbia products, the quality is good.I purchased this vest for my husband and he loves it! It fits perfect and is just as item is described. It is very soft and not too heavy for wearing with a long sleeved shirt under it.2XT is the size of all my Columbia products, this however feels more like an XL rather than the 2XT stated on the label. It's extremely tight! Time to lose weight I suppose...My son loves these vests and wears them religiously in school as his teacher loves to have the window open during the winter. He says its wear and versatile as its light and it doesn’t overheat him even when sitting in a warm classroom. Outside while at recess he notes its warm and not bulky to annoy him. The vest are light and look well made and stand up to being washed constantly, not everyday but least three times a month.Es una pieza muy abrigadora, perfecta para entretiempo, pero si eres de la persona que no ye gusta andar ajustado, es recomendable pedir una talla mas a la que normalmente usas.If you stopped caring what you look like and just want to be warm and cozy well this one's for you.
