The texture and color of the shirt was not what I expected -- I'm not sure even how to describe it.I've had many Columbia shirts to protect from the sun and this was very different.I also didn't care for the fit; I sent it back.This is my favorite sun hoodie so far. Extremely light weight, feels cool, and the reflective quality keeps the sun off well. Very nice!I don't know if it was "cooling", but it definitely didn't make me feel warm. Even though I was hiking outdoors in 80-90 degree weather. Fits well - slightly bigger than other Columbia items I have tried. Worked well as sun protection and I liked the hood and the thumb holes in the sleeves. I had several people stop me on trails and ask where I got it.I had one of these shirts in blue before and it had little reflective dots that made you look like a disco ball. I also see below reviews of the "cirrus gray" color, which mention it is reflective. However, the shirt in "cirrus gray" I got had white dots, not reflective at all.My wife wore it on a crisp, sunny, 62 degrees, windy day. If you're hiking, you're going to work a sweat. The color was also perfect. You need to stand out, not blend with nature, if God forbid something happens and you need someone to look for you. She said it was perfect for her: Medium and with enough space to wear a dry fit shirt underneath.Accidentally bought this thinking I was gettingthe regular Tidal Tee. Almost returned it because I didn’t like all the dots. But then I wore it out on a hot, sunny day and was pleasantly surprised at how cool I stayed. Would highly recommend if you're out in the sun and need good sun protection and want to stay cool.Love these shirts. Bought one while in Phoenix at a Nascar race and even though it was 90+ degrees and I was directly in the sun all day, I did not once get too hot or uncomfortable. These shirts are true to size and the best shirts for lightweight sun coverage.
