This is great for light rains and I have definitely counted on this jacket for a lot of morning walks in the rain with my dog -- However, the stitching for the logo is not backed with waterproof lining. I used this for the first time in a heavier rain (not a downpour, but heavier than a drizzle) and when I got back my shirt under the logo was all wet. I will be applying some duct tape to keep the moisture out of that area.I have worn this jacket many times in the rain and it completely keeps me dry. I had to buy a large because there were no more mediums left in the green, but it is a slim fit to begin with so it doesn't make me look bulky. It also covers my butt which I like because I don't like sitting on wet surfaces. I am 5'11 so if it is long enough to cover my butt it will probably cover yours too! I love Columbia products.good, fit.I am small, and bought small. it fits me fine with a sweater under.I have had it for a month and the zipper has failed several times. I shouldn't had bought a jacket in White, it is hard to keep it clean.I wish they had put an interior pocket to keep a telephone, secure inside.The color pictures is not the color I received. I got green and it was dark army green. It fit well and is good quality so I kept it anyway.I could do without thw Velcro as it catches on clothes and my hair. Might want to order up to have a little extra room.I love this coat! Lightweight but warm especially with a hoodie or base layer. I usually wear a med-large size 5'8, 150lbs. Bought the large and it fits great alone or with a layer. The green is almost army green, maybe a bit darker.Excellent rain repeller and great length! Particularly awesome while camping during thunderstorms, around the campfire in leggings, sweatshirt and rain boots. Perfect spring jacket. Also great commuting to the office or just running errands. Waters beads up and runs right off plus great ventilation. Fit is generous enough for layers while still flattering with a nipped waist. Well worth the $$!really like this jacket but the colors are not accurate. I ordered the green and I was soooo disappointed when I got a package of a jacket that looked black.. It is so dark green and not what the picture shows. Not happy about that I feel like they sent the wrong color. Other wise I do like it
