I ordered this mostly due to it being on sale for about $36. It's meant to replace a somewhat similar Columbia rain jacket I had and it turns out to be pretty much the same jacket, slightly redesigned. The old jacket (which I bought for about the same price at an outlet store) didn't have the dropped back hem nor the cinched waist and instead had a more overall slimmed style. I like this style better but the main thing missing from the old version is no snaps now for quick closure, just the zipper which I rarely used before. The reason I was replacing the old jacket after about six years was that the waterproofing whitish lining began to degrade and flake off around the shoulders. I had never washed it but I do use a crossbody purse which may have abraded it through time so I expect this one may last about six years also. The old one was great in wet weather and I could layer it easily over thick sweaters and even a jacket and this one looks like it will work even better since the waist can be let out. Also, they changed the cuffs which are now elastic instead having a velcro closure. Either way, the sleeves are very long and I will be rolling them up which is no big deal. The zippered pockets are the same which are a good size. I won't give it five stars due to the lack of snaps and the expected six-year lifespan. It's definitely not worth the $110 shown on the price tag attached to it and for $36, no problem.
