These shorts do not allow your skin to breathe at all. I wear many different shorts and these are by far the "hottest" in the sense that your body heat is trapped resulting in profuse sweating. This does not happen nearly to this extent with any other shorts I've worn. Bottom line: even though I bought these shorts primarily for outdoor activity such as hiking, they have proven unusable because of this (un)breathability issue.Arguably the best pair of "shorts" I've ever owned. I quote shorts because I find myself wanting to call them something different. They are what the title suggests: a Hybrid. Hats off to Columbia for this 5-star product.Ever want to jump into a river or a swimming hole with friends while hiking? Get these!! They function as lightweight hiking shorts that help wick away moisture, and they double as a perfect set of swim trunks. I would wear these for either activity!I take a minimalist approach these days when packing, and these exceeded my expectations. They are very packable and comfortable! I wore these on a 16-mile round trip day hike recently and never once found myself uncomfortable or having to adjust.I may double down when the price is right. Columbia is really putting out some great gear.BienThis is the best pair of shorts I've owned! So multi-functional- you can go running/hiking in them, swimming, or to a fancy schmancy party. I've worn them to some pretty upscale restaurants right after I was body-surfing in them and felt at home in both scenarios.I got the green which goes well with all the t-shirts I have, but their other colors look great too. Couldn't believe how light. And appear to be durable (time will tell of course). Within a few days of getting them, I went to a baseball game. I was carrying cheese fries back to my seat when someone backed into me and yep... all down the front of the new shorts. Went to the mensroom, used plain water and paper towels. Wiped off all the cheese. In about 20 minutes the shorts had dried and NO SIGN of the cheese! Couldn't believe it. LOVE EM!!!I'm 5'11", 170. Way too baggy for my likes. They looked like late 90s-2000 shorts (minus the cargo pockets). I like them a bit slim now, like the ones in the photo. If they were like the photo I would keep them...but these seemed WAY baggier. So, unfortunately I'm returning them. Nice material though!Most comfortable pair of shorts I’ve used. It is light weight - can be used for running/hiking as well as casual wear.
