I ordered the Madraune, thinking it would be heavier and warmer than the lighter weight, (and less expensive) down jackets that columbia offers. Living in rural South Dakota where winter can get to negative 40 with the windchill kinda makes warmth a necessity. But as a hospice nurse, I needed something compact, light in overall poundage, and easy to move in. I'm in and out of the car a lot, going from patient to patient. Whooeee, did I make the right choice on this one. Columbias run small, so order a size up from your usual. Sleeves are a hair too long, but frankly, I'm short and stubby anyway so...The coat itself is incredibly lightweight for the amount of warmth it provides, and I'm loving the inner lining that reflects your own heat back to you. No overheating in it so far. I've managed to make my friends jealous in it's lines and curves. If you think you'd want the hat and gloves, I'm going to suggest you order them all together in the same color, as Columbia likes to be creative, and you could end up with two or three different shades of blue otherwise. I'm impressed. And given that the last columbia I invested in is still in great shape, I anticipate this coat will last a while too. The first one I purchased just turned 10. If it weren't so bulky, i'd still be in it. As it is, my daughter has appropriated it for long walks with the dog and shooting her bow.I love this jacket. Warm and lightweight, and the cuffs with thumbholes are a terrific bonus. So many of the down jackets I looked at were too short -- I like the length of this one a lot.I found the jacket to be very much true to size, not on the big side as some other reviewers said. I'm usually right on the cusp between a medium and large, so I ordered the medium expecting it to be a little roomy. But it fits just right as long as I'm not wearing anything bulky underneath. So it fits like most mediums fit me, not bigger.Love my jacket, nothing will ever come close.Pros: Speedy service. Cute style & just covers toosh. I sized up, and it fits perfectly (I'm a L, so XL fit perfect), so make sure you size up. Thumb holes for x-tra protection for hands & nice long sleeves.Omni heat works perfect,does'nt get too hot & sweaty,stays super warm and cozy. Went outside in 6 degree NM weather, and did'nt feel the crisp cold and breeze AT ALL (only on my legs). Soft material, I have'nt taken it off in the house. That's how in love I am. Great price,too..hope you purchase this awesome jacket, you will never regret the wise choice I made.Cons: none at allso the jacket is fine. I haven't tried it in cold weather yet. the thing that bugs me is the built-in thing you're supposed to slip over your thumb to keep the sleeves in place. I guess? Maybe its for warmness. I don't know. The thing is, its made of like rash guard-like material and I will snag that up in about 15 seconds.This is the best purchase I made all year! What a great investment and the jacket is going to last for years! I bought a northface down jacket and was not nearly as great as the Columbia! I paid well over $250 for the northface and the sleeves were too short! I ended up returning the northface ad purchasing the Columbia! Great product for $107!! Plus it arrived within 5 days of ordering! Not too bulky, infra heating inside lining, extra length on the sleeves to cover part of your hands,Lightweight yet warm. Packable. I was disappointed that it didn’t come in petite sizing but thankfully I am a seamstress and it fit perfectly once I shortened the sleeves about 1-1/2”.this is the most amazing coat ever! the reflective inner lining is highly effective and i love love love how you slide your thumb through the little slit at the end of the sleeve and then your wrists are covered and warm. it seems like they thought of everything with this coat! it has all the warmth of a big bulky coat, but without the bulk! it is such a beautiful coat. love it!!I used this jacket for a 7 week canoe trip up in Nunavut, Canada and it held up very well. As a dry, warm layer it held up nicely and kept me very warm in the Arctic wind. I am normally a medium or large, and this large fit very well. The only down side is that there is no hood. But with a hat and/or neck gator it's not necessary,
